One Leg Up!

Many bird species stand on one leg to keep the foot warm and conserve body heat. The most famous of these, the flamingo, also has an amazing pink color which actually comes from the carotenoid pigments in their favorite food, shrimp! This very old species of bird has evolved over 30 million years, and in spite of its "antique" status, serves as a major inspiration in contemporary design today!

PHAG's on-line store is filled with kitschy goodness, inspired by the creature well known for having, "one leg up." Check out our classic flamingo yard stake, or for an illuminated twist, our flamingo accent lamps. Still thirsty for more? Why not check out the floating flamingo? Speaking of thirsty, did you know that flamingos can drink hot water from geysers at temperatures very close to boiling? Keep in mind, this is not a recommendation for your next flamingo bath!
